Linda Lee “Sunny” Hunt, age 57, of Warrenton, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, in Warrenton. She was born Aug. 25, 1953, in San Francisco. The family moved to Napa, Calif., where she started the seventh grade. She graduated from Knappa High School in 1971. She went on to college and earned a teaching degree. On Nov. 13, 1982, she married Thomas Benton “Ben” Hunt in Gearhart. He survives, residing in Warrenton. After college, Mrs. Hunt taught preschool in various cities. In the late 1980s, she returned to college and received her master’s degree at Portland State University. She became a preschool administrator in Lebanon. In 1997, she and her husband returned to Clatsop County. She worked at the Clatsop County Health Department, and later with the Oregon State Extension Service, teaching nutrition. She was instrumental in starting the community gardens in Clatsop County. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Marilyn Joyce Burnam of Fair Oaks, Calif.; a brother, Robert Noble of Fair Oaks; a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Steven Guerrero of San Jose, Calif.; two nieces, Sarah and Laura Noble of Fair Oaks; and two nephews, Kevin and Eric Guerrero of San Jose. A remembrance service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at the family home, 89953 Seales Road in Warrenton. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, in care of Caldwell’s Luce-Layton Mortuary, 1165 Franklin Ave., Astoria, OR 97103.
