Dixie Jeane Ferrara

Dixie Jeane Ferrara, age 54, of Manzanita, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at home. She was born May 30, 1956, in Orange, Texas, to James and Shirley Tanner. Her parents survive, residing in Evergreen, Ala. She spent most of her young life in Texas and Sequim, Wash., before the family moved to Seaside. In 1974, she graduated from Seaside High School. She married Anthony Ferrara. He survives, residing in Manzanita. Family members said she loved living at the beach on the North Oregon Coast, as well as spending time with her parents in Alabama. She has many friends and family in Oregon and Alabama who remember her as a kind and caring person. In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by a daughter, Katie Sellars of Seaside; two sons, Trevor Sellars and his wife, Heike, of Gearhart and Clay Sellars of Nehalem; four grandchildren, Danielle, Kevin and Madison Sellars of Gearhart and Caleb Sellars of Seaside; three sisters, Kathy Sparling of Gearhart, Linda Bickford of Melissa, Texas, and Ivy Duncan of Evergreen; and several nieces and nephews.
