Kenneth Raymond Adams, age 71, of Warrenton, died Friday, June 3, 2011, in Portland. He was born June 3, 1940, in Filer, Idaho, to James William and Ruby Naomi (Main) Adams. Mr. Adams was mentally disabled. He attended Alvord Taylor Home in Eugene, sponsored by Goodwill. He then learned to work as a janitor and was able to live by himself in an apartment. He moved to the Clatsop County area in 1992. He was affiliated with the United Methodist Church in Warrenton. Family members said he traveled to many different countries through a special program through Sundial Travel Tours of Astoria. He especially enjoyed bike riding. He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Nettie and Philip Blair of Astoria; four nephews, Michael Blair of Port Orchard, Wash., Randy Blair of Astoria, Bruce Blair of Klamath Falls and Kim Murdock of Dayton; and a niece, Briita Allgeyer of Dupont, Wash. He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret F. Green; and a niece, Tammy Lasorda. A memorial will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at the United Methodist Church in Warrenton. Private interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Astoria. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the United Methodist Church, 679 S. Main Ave., Warrenton, OR 97146, or a charity of one’s choice. Caldwell’s Luce-Layton Mortuary in Astoria is in charge of the arrangements.
