Martin D. "Marty" Wertz

Martin D. “Marty” Wertz, 59, of Astoria, died Thursday, June 2, 2011, in Astoria.

He was born June 11, 1951, in Long Beach, Calif., to Robert T. and Merle M. (McHenry) Wertz. His parents preceded him in death.

He attended San Dieguito High School in Encinitas,Calif., and Palomar College in San Marcos, Calif.

On Nov. 20, 1976, he married Krickett Anderson Wertz in Encinitas. She survives, residing in Astoria.

Mr. Wertz worked in postproduction services and advertising sales.

Family members said he enjoyed music, photography and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Laura Wertz; and three sisters, Martha, Michelle and Cathy Wertz.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Steven Wertz.

A private memorial will be held.
