Helen C. Klindt, 87, of Astoria, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, in Astoria.
She was born April 12, 1924, in Detroit, to Clarence and Elizabeth (Coon) Cummins.
She was raised in Davenport, Iowa.
She married Edward Jones in Davenport. They adopted two boys, and later divorced.
She married Malcolm Childress. They later divorced after 14 years of marriage.
In 1964, she married Harold Klindt in California. He preceded her in death Nov. 22, 2007.
While in California, Mrs. Klindt worked at Disneyland, which she enjoyed. She also had a dog grooming business. In 1995, she moved to Chehalis, Wash. After her husband died, she moved to Astoria to be close to her family.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Laura Jones of Yuma, Ariz., Elmer and Wendy Childress of Astoria and Tom and Alberta Klindt of Surprise, Ariz.; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Anne and George Enos of Oak Harbor, Wash.; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Nancy Cummins of Davenport; and a sister, Marie Reistroffer of Bellevue, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Jones; and a sister, Betty Lawrence.
A memorial will be held at a later date at St. Francis Mission Catholic Church in Toledo, Wash.
A private burial will be held at the St. Francis Mission Cemetery in Toledo.
