Pamela Faye Jenkins

Pamela Faye Jenkins, 63, of Astoria, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, in Portland.

She was born Dec. 27, 1947, in Astoria, to Howard L. and Jenia M. (Peairson) Jenkins. Her parents preceded her in death.

Raised in Astoria, she graduated from Astoria High School in 1966. She attended Clatsop Community College and a business school in Portland.

Ms. Jenkins worked as the restaurant manager of the Fiddler’s Green Restaurant in Astoria for several years, and managed other restaurants in the area. She was then employed by the Tongue Point Job Corps Center as a resident supervisor for a few years, retiring in 2005.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Astoria.

Family members said her hobbies included being an avid reader, playing cards and collecting flamingos. She loved iris flowers and spending time with her firehouse cat, Sam, and her other two cats, Al and Arthur.

She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Reg and Barb Jenkins of Astoria; a niece, Sarah Dielman and her husband, Todd, of Astoria; a nephew, Todd Jenkins and his wife, Tawnya, of Astoria; and a great-niece, Madelyn Dielman of Astoria.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Caldwell’s Luce-Layton Mortuary, 1165 Franklin Ave. in Astoria.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at First United Methodist Church. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall of the church.

Private burial will take place at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton.

Memorial contributions may be given to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 1076 Franklin Ave., Astoria, OR 97103.
