Mildred "Maxine" Angelus

Mildred “Maxine” Angelus, age 91, of Nehalem, passed away Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011 in Seaside. She was born March 30, 1920 in Rising Star, Texas to William Marshall and Nettie Blackburn Marshall. Mildred moved to San Francisco in 1944 where she met and married John Jess Angelus, who preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 2009. After marrying, they moved to John’s home town of Portland, where they built their first home. After John retired in 1973, they moved to Nehalem, where they have resided since. Both her husband John and Maxine spent the last years of their life at Nehalem Bay House. Maxine was a loving and giving person who thought the best of everyone. She will be greatly missed by numerous family and friends. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, J. Mark and Jennifer Angelus of Nehalem; brother and sister-in-law, William and Trudy Marshall of Texas; niece and her husband, Barbara and Bill Grady of Texas; nephew and his wife, Jerry and Joyce Penn of California; and numerous cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Nehalem Bay House, 35385 Tohl Avenue, Nehalem, OR 97131.
