Jean Elizabeth O'Bryan, 83
Of Astoria, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, in Astoria. She was born Aug. 27, 1928, in Astoria, to James and Anna Hansen O'Bryan. She graduated from Astoria High School in 1946. After high school, Ms. O'Bryan moved to Portland and worked in the insurance industry for several years. After her retirement in the late 1980s, she returned to Astoria and had resided here since. She volunteered at the Clatsop County Heritage Museum. Family members said her hobbies included reading, keeping in touch with current events and watching sports. She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Leslie of Astoria; two nieces, K'Lynn Bruchmiller and her husband, Gary, of Gresham and Patti O'Bryan of Troy, Mont.; three nephews, Mike O'Bryan and his wife, Lindy, and Grant Leslie, all of Astoria, and Brian Leslie and his wife, Berri, of Salem; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Arlene O'Bryan; and a brother-in-law, Fred Leslie. Interment will be at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton. Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of one's choice. Caldwell's Luce-Layton Mortuary in Astoria is in charge of the arrangements.
