Ross G. Lyngstad, 62, of Warrenton, died Saturday, March 31, 2012, in Warrenton.
He was born Oct. 3, 1949, in Astoria, to Arnold O. and Camilla (Smith) Lyngstad. His parents preceded him in death.
He was raised in the Lewis and Clark area of Astoria.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for a period of time.
Mr. Lyngstad worked for various employers, including the Oregon Department of Transportation, Airport Crabpot Co. and several canneries. Most recently he was a part-time casual longshore worker at the Port of Astoria.
Family members said he enjoyed digging clams at every opportunity and had a special love for his pets.
He is survived by a brother, Bruce Lyngstad of Vancouver, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Carole Gjovik Lyngstad of Astoria; a nephew, Brent Lyngstad of Beaverton; a niece, Allison McGann and her husband, Greg, of Scappoose; three great-nephews; and one great-niece.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton.
