Pheraby Elizabeth Stricklin, 16, of Warrenton, died Saturday, May 5, 2012, in Astoria.
She was born Feb. 3, 1996, in Astoria, to Robert C. and Elizabeth C. (Smith) Stricklin. They survive, residing on the Stricklin Farm on Clatsop Plains.
She attended Fire Mountain School through fifth grade, and subsequently educated herself.
Miss Stricklin was a student and horsewoman.
She was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church in Seaside.
Family members said her interests included neurology, sociology, mathematics, music, horse training, and above all, equine hoof care.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her grandparents, James M. and Fern D. Smith of Kirkland, Wash.; three aunts, Kitti Michaud of Hinton, Alberta, Judith Cordova of Tenino, Wash., and DeLynne Smith of Kirkland; an uncle, Alex Smith of Edinburgh, Scotland; a godmother, Muschi Mayflower of Astoria; and numerous cousins and lifelong friends, young and old.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Curtis and Christine Stricklin.
Private rites with family took place last weekend prior to inurnment. Memorial plans are incomplete.
Caldwell’s Luce-Layton Mortuary in Astoria is in charge of the arrangements.
