Veronica Kathleen “Verna” Wolfgram, 93, of Astoria, died Friday, June 8, 2012, in Astoria.
She was born June 20, 1918, in Portland, to George and Irene Brown.
In 1936, she graduated from Seaside High School. She started working at the telephone company in Seaside.
She married Norman A. Wolfgram. He preceded her in death in 1978. After marrying, the couple moved to Astoria.
Mrs. Wolfgram worked for the Astor Hotel for a few years. She then worked at St. Mary’s Hospital and Columbia Memorial Hospital as a housekeeper for 29 years.
She was a member of St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters.
Family members said her hobbies included reading, crossword puzzles and gardening.
She is survived by a daughter, Irene A. Wolfgram of Astoria.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
A recitation of the rosary will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14, at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. and a reception in the Star of the Sea School Auditorium. A graveside service will take place at 3 p.m. that afternoon at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton.
