Daniel Carl “Dannie” Deckert, 74, of Warrenton, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012, in Warrenton.

He was born March 6, 1938, in Longview, Wash., to Carl Adam and Beatrice Elaine (Francisco) Deckert.

Mr. Deckert lived at the beach house at Coast Rehabilitation Services.

Friends said he loved everything about the Fourth of July, including the parade. He enjoyed everything to do with animals, trains and trucks. He spent a lot of time outside feeding the birds and he loved his dog, Andy, and his cat, Bear. He also loved Christmas, and could be heard singing “Jingle Bells,” his favorite song, in June, and spending time with his housemates and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, at Greenwood Cemetery in Astoria.
