Candis Lynn Young

Candis Lynn Young, age 65, of Warrenton, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, in Astoria.

She was born Dec. 5, 1946, in Wisconsin.

She was raised and received her education in California.

On Oct. 18, 2002, she married Joseph Young in Springfield. He survives, residing in Warrenton.

Mrs. Young worked for 15 years in waste management as a weight master. She moved to Oregon in 1996. After marrying, she moved to Clatsop County and worked at Ag-Bag Corporation and K Metal Manufacturing.

Family members said her hobbies included crocheting and making crafts.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two stepsons, Mark Valenti and his wife, Brenda, of Georgia and Michael Young of Springfield; two stepdaughters, Sheila Liedemann and her husband, Peter, of Germany and Gena Young of Salem; and eight grandchildren, Logan Valenti and Joleen and Aileen Liedemann, all of Germany, Mechaela and Jaylen Young of Springfield and Brianna Young, Jensen Clark and Jeronn Jensen, all of Salem.

A memorial will be announced at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Clatsop County Animal Shelter, 1315 S.E. 19th St., Warrenton, OR 97146.

Caldwell’s Luce-Layton Mortuary in Astoria is in charge of the arrangements.
