Hattie Jean Davis, age 86, of Warrenton, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, in Warrenton. She was born Nov. 19, 1925, in Harvard, Idaho, the fourth daughter of Frank and Bessie (Queener) Petersen. The family lived in a one-bedroom home. On April 10, 1948, she married Albert Little Sr. in Yuma, Ariz. The couple had three children, and later divorced. On June 10, 1963, she married Vern Davis in Washington. He preceded her in death in November 1990. The couple had one son. Mrs. Davis found employment in a variety of different fields. She worked in a logging camp, on a ranch, waited tables in cafes, tended bar, crated ammunition at the Umatilla Army Depot, was a clerk typist at the Army Depot, was a telephone operator and worked in a cannery. The job she enjoyed most was raising her children. Family members said she was very proud of her children. She was an avid walker, and walked to the cemetery and back home again every morning. She played a mean hand of pinochle and she played to win. She also enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine and going to family gatherings. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Dick Ferranti of Hermiston; three sons and daughters-in-law, Albert Little Jr. and his wife, Debbie, and Dave and Stephanie Davis, all of Warrenton, and Lloyd and Lisa Little of Florence; 17 grandchildren, Sherri Garcia and Shelly Kinnick of Hermiston, Jordan Fisher, Brandon Little and Madi and Ellie Davis, all of Portland, Ryan Little and his wife, Sherry, Daniel Little and his wife, Mindy, Brendon Goodell and his wife, Allison, and Natalie and Addison Davis, all of Warrenton, Sara Overholt and her husband, Skip, of Fortuna, Calif., Charnae Decker and her husband, Adam, of Florence, Alaura Little of California, Miranda Little of St. Helens, and Brandie and Brittany Davis of Stayton; two sisters, Nellie Curdy of Carmichael, Calif., and Ethel Lewis of Portland; and 16 great-grandchildren, Madison and Zoe Garcia, Zach Kinnick, Jordan, Hanna, Chloe, Joe, Tyla, Austin, Dawson, Lexi and Parker Little, Tyler Davis, Sydney Overholt and Aiden and Lola Goodell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Warrenton Senior Center, 170 S.W. Third St., Warrenton, OR 97146. Private burial will be held at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton.
