Myrna Gail Caron, 62, of Astoria, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, in Seaside.
She was born March 18, 1950, in Friona, Texas, to James Blackwell Johnson and Anna Mae (Edwards) Johnson.
On July 30, 1983, she married Alfred Richard Caron in Santa Barbara, Calif. He survives, residing in Astoria.
Mrs. Caron worked for many years in the health care profession. She also worked for several years at Mary Todd’s Workers Tavern. She retired in August.
She volunteered her time to the local production of “Shanghaied In Astoria” for many years. She was a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and the Astoria Moose Lodge.
Family members said she enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Lonnie and Edith Johnson of Enid, Okla., and George Johnson of Norman, Okla.; a sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Richard Klingler of Guthrie, Okla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Robyn Lee and David Wayne Ornsbey of Gig Harbor, Wash.; a son, Marc Richard Montgomery of Portland; a stepson, Simon Caron and his wife, Sara, of Astoria; and three grandchildren, Christopher Montgomery and his wife, Jessica, of Gulfport, Miss., Daniel Ornsbey of Gulfport and Maurice Caron of Astoria.
A celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Mary Todd’s Workers Tavern, 281 W. Marine Drive.
