Florine Joan Forseth

Florine Joan Forseth, 84, of Astoria, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, in Hammond.

She was born June 26, 1928, in Astoria, to Joe and Olga (Hauke) Henningsen.

In September 1946, she married Elmer Forseth. He preceded her in death in 2009.

In earlier years, Mrs. Forseth worked as a bookkeeper. She then worked in the cafeteria at Astor School. She also co-owned and operated Custard King with her sister. Custard King was well known for the best homemade ice cream in town.

She was a lifetime member of First Lutheran Church and Hope Circle.

She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Forseth of Tustin, Calif., and Julie Durr and her husband, Don, of Tillamook; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Forseth of Sacramento, Calif.; three grandchildren, Renee Fitter of Doylestown, Pa., and Kevin Durr and Jodi Christensen and her husband, Allen, all of Tillamook; two great-granddaughters, Jade Dunn and Jasmyn Christensen of Tillamook; and a sister, Lois Ahola of Astoria.

She was preceded in death by a son, Rich Forseth, in 2007.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Greenwood Cemetery in Astoria.

A reception will follow at First Lutheran Church in Astoria.
