Annie R. Bush, 90, of Seaside, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, in Seaside.

She was born June 14, 1922, in Los Angeles, to Alvino and Josephine (Ramirez) Martinez.

She married Glenn Chandler Bush in San Gabriel, Calif. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bush spent her working career in California working as a teacher’s aide. She started the first bilingual class in San Gabriel in the kindergarten at Roosevelt School in 1979. She retired in 1984. She was a resident of Seaside for 27 years.

She did volunteer work for Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, the Seaside Museum and Historical Society, the Seaside Ladies Crafts Club, the Seaside local chapter of the AARP, and the Rainbow club of the Seaside Masonic order for women.

Family members said her hobbies included gardening, cooking, crafts and combing garage sales.

She is survived by two sisters, Isabel Gonzales and Virginia Acuna of San Gabriel; a sister-in-law, Marika Bush of Covina, Calif.; a son, John Bush and his wife, Robbi, of Fairfax, Calif.; a daughter, Barbara Fawkes and her husband, Fred, of Seaside; five grandchildren, Glenn and Paul Stelson, Leanne and Katie Fawkes and Alex Bush; and a son-in-law, Dr. Hugh Stelson.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Stelson.

A private graveside service will be held at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton.
