Eric Paul Autio

Eric Paul Autio, 46, of Brownsmead, died Jan. 17, 2013 in Brownsmead.

He was born Feb. 25, 1966 in Astoria, to Marvin R. Autio and Nancy A. Akerstedt Autio. His parents survive, residing in Brownsmead.

Mr. Autio was raised in Svensen. After graduating from Knappa High School in 1984, he attended the Horst Mager Culinary Institute in Portland. He worked in a number of restaurants in Clatsop County and the Portland area, including several years at the Wayfarer Restaurant in Cannon Beach. More recently, he has worked for the family business in Brownsmead. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing and skiing. Family members said he loved his family and always looked forward to participating in family activities. He was a member of Coastline Christian Fellowship in Astoria.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Anita and James Nichols of Knappa; one brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Katherine Autio of Brownsmead; three nieces, Amanda and her husband, Carson Moscoso, of Medford, Addie and her husband, Cody Jeremiah, of San Diego, and Grace Autio of Brownsmead; two nephews, Aaron and his wife, Michelle Nichols, of Barksdale, La., and Alexander Autio of Brownsmead; three aunts and one uncle, Mary Slayter and Richard Holliday of Grants Pass, Kathryn Krauss of Selma, and Mary Autio of Sun City, Ariz.; and 10 cousins.

An uncle, Paul S. Autio and an aunt, Kay Edith Autio, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 42417 Valley Creek Lane, Astoria, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26.

Private interment will be held at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton.
