Lois Severson

Lois Severson, 88, of Astoria, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, in Astoria.

She was born May 9, 1924, in Burley, Idaho, to Edward L. and Pearl (Baggett) Terriere.

She attended Burley High School.

On April 18, 1946, she married Bruce Severson in Elko, Nev. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Severson has lived in Clatsop County for six years, in Seaside and Astoria. She retired in 1990.

She was a member of the Methodist Church, YWCA, Elks, Order of the Eastern Star, Entres Nous Club, PTA, and the bridge club. She was also a Girl Scout leader.

Family members said she enjoyed quilting, braiding rugs, needlepoint, painting, traveling, reading, cooking, collecting, bridge, dancing and gardening.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Suzanne Severson of Warrenton; a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Skip Royes of Joseph; three grandchildren, Emily Severson of Warrenton and Hope Royes and Luke Royes and his wife, Callie, all of Joseph; three great-grandchildren, Addie, Lily and James Royes of Joseph; a sister, Carol Wilson of Mount Vernon, Wash.; and a brother, Glen Terriere of Newport.

She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Severson; and two brothers, Edwin and Leon Terriere.

Inurnment will take place at Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point.
