Shanna Maria Seago

Shanna Maria Seago, 19, of Astoria, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, in Astoria.

She was born Dec. 24, 1993, in Astoria, to Michelle Seago and Martin R. Carter. Her parents survive. Her mother resides in Astoria; her father resides in Los Angeles.

When she was 3 years old, she moved to Gardnerville, Nev. She attended Under the Magic Pine Tree Day Care and C.C. Meneley Elementary School, where she made many friends. When she was 7 years old, she returned to Astoria and attended local school.

Ms. Seago was learning to tattoo and play the electric guitar. She had a love of music and was always listening to her iPod. Family members said she was very talented and loved to draw and paint.

Family members said she had a great personality and sense of humor. She enjoyed her unique hat collection that would prompt strangers to take notice, laugh and talk to her. She also loved animals and enjoyed spending time with her dog, Sandy, and her cat, Phantom.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Lonee Sisk of Eugene; a brother, Thomas Sisk of Eugene; a sister-in-law, Kori Sisk of Eugene; a niece, Rylinn Sisk of Eugene; a grandmother, Judi Seago of Astoria; an aunt, Dana Seago of Astoria; four cousins, Joshua Seago and his fiancee, Basca Glasnapp, of Springfield, Travis Hutson of Astoria, Shawn Carter of Washington and Eric Agee and his wife, Rebecca, of Portland; and numerous other cousins in Oregon, Nevada and Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by three grandparents, Don Seago and Lily and Guy Carter; an aunt, Sherry Carter; and two great-grandparents, Lorna and Ernest Kairala.

A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Caldwell’s Luce-Layton Mortuary, 1165 Franklin Ave.
