Leatrice “Lee” Joy Botkin, 90, died Saturday, March 30, 2013, in Lebanon, Oregon. She was born October 27, 1922, in New York Mills, Minnesota, to Clements Otto Pape and Grace Boardman Pape.
In 1940, she met her future husband, Cecil R. Botkin, and they were married March 17, 1941, in Vancouver, WA. Mr. Botkin preceded her in death, August 9, 2005. They managed Roger’s Shoes and Apparel in Lebanon, Oregon, for nine years before buying the store “Leons” in Lebanon. They sold their store in Lebanon in 1955 and moved to Astoria, where they managed “Leons” for the next 19 years. They retired Feb. 1, 1974, to travel and enjoy life, spending winters in California, Arizona and Mexico.

She is survived by five nieces, Barbara Bales of Castle Rock, WA, Shirley Ann Frye of Castle Rock, WA, Leta Hinkley of Yuma, AZ, Reta Hicks of Yuma, AZ, and Sharon Pape of Idaho.
Mrs. Botkin requested no funeral services.
