Jack Edwin Rosenlund

December 30, 1924 — April 22, 2013

Jack E. Rosenlund passed April 22, 2013, at the age of 88. Jack resided at Necanicum Village in Seaside the last 6 years; prior to that he and his wife Jean resided at Brighton Beach for 20+ years.

Jack was born in Astoria on December 30, 1924. He later attended school in Spokane Wa. He worked in his father’s bakery, where he met his future wife, Naomi Jean Smith. They were married 59 years.

Jack was a WW II veteran. He was an Airborne Ranger with the 82nd Airborne serving in France and Italy.

Jack was a baker from high school until he retired from the Safeway Bakery in Tillamook. He was pleased to teach in the bakers apprenticeship program. Some of Jack's other community services were with the Senior Olympics, Rockaway Santa, and the Nehalem Fitness Center. His hobbies included jewelry making, creative writing, jazz and classical music, and debating the spiritual realm.

Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife Jean in 2010, and his youngest daughter Jackie Lynn Rosenlund in 2002. He is survived by his sons Steven and Mark, and a daughter Dawn. Jack had 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service May 5th at 2 p.m. in the dining area of Necanicum Village, 2500 S. Roosevelt in Seaside. Cremation was by Caldwell’s Funeral home. The ashes will be spread privately by the family.

The family wishes to thank all the sweet people at Providence Seaside Hospital and Extended Care Center for their kind and loving treatment of the entire family while Dad passed.
