Beatrice Joyce (Newcomb) Williams

Beatrice Joyce (Newcomb) Williams was raised in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

She graduated from People’s Hospital in Akron, Ohio, in 1945.

On March 9, 1944, she married Howard Grover Williams.

Mrs. Williams was a Registered Nurse whose working career spanned 58 years. She retired in 2003, and came to the North Coast from Phoenix, Ariz.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Her greatest interest in life was her family of 4 children, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading books in her free time.

She is survived by three children: Rodger Gilbert and Nancy Williams, who reside in Ashton, Idaho; Joy (Williams) and Kent Howard, who reside in San Diego, California; and Jeanne Williams Flury, who resides in Astoria, Oregon; and a daughter-in-law, Beth Godard Williams who resides in McMinnville, Oregon.

Seven grandchildren: Melissa Jill Williams and Wilbur Lam, reside in Decatur, Georgia; Jennifer Lynn Williams resides in Chandler, Arizona; Lindsay (Williams) and Nathan Kaddish reside in Portland, Oregon; Kent Cameron (K.C.) Howard resides in San Francisco, California; Joyce Helene Howard resides in Ireland; Heather Christine and Casey Boyer reside in Columbus, Ohio; and Chad Lee Flury resides in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

Four great-grandchildren: Aaron Williams Lam resides in Decatur, Georgia; Lauren Williams Lam resides in Decatur, Georgia; Elena Williams Seneff resides in Chandler, Arizona; and Henry Williams Kadish resides in Portland, Oregon.

She was preceded in death by: Howard Grover Williams (husband) in June, 1983; Frank Grover Williams (son) in May, 2011; Francea Lynn Williams (daughter & twin of Rodger) in June, 1948; Lyle Ferriman Newcomb (brother) in September, 1985; and Edward (Ted) Newcomb (brother) in July, 1991; and Amy (Babe) Newcomb (sister) in June, 2004.

A private celebration of life will be held.
