Vivienne Frances Maley

Vivienne F. Maley died June 27th, 2013, in Astoria, and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Maley.

She was born in Steubenville, Ohio, Feb. 6th, 1927, to John & Ann Conway.

She married Robert Maley at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Feb. 1, 1947, while he was home on leave from the Navy. She went with him from China to Alaska to Texas, and California, to name a few. Their last station was Tongue Point Naval Base in Astoria, OR, where they retired after 20 years in the Navy.

Viv and Bob then began a career with what was then called Oregon Fur, Fish and Game, where Bob became a hatchery man at Gnat Creek and Viv a housewife. After 22 years there, they retired and bought a house in town. Viv was an avid reader and journaled her daily life for over 40 years.

They raised 5 kids, 4 survive. Son: Bill Maley, his son Zack, Bill’s wife Joyce, and her children.

Daughter: Kathy Maley Keyser, husband Mike, children Jennifer Keyser Morgan & spouse Mitch, Mike Keyser Jr. & spouse Erica and Jon Keyser.

Daughter: Michele Maley Paris, her children, Isaac Paris, Andrew Paris, Ashley Paris.

Daughter: Mary Maley Warren, husband Mike, children Brice Maley, Michaela Warren, Sean Warren.

Great-grandchildren: Trevin and Connor Morgan, Miro Paris, V. Belle Maley, Clay & Carly Keyser.

A son, Danny Maley, died in 1979, age 16, from cancer.

Viv and Bob were married for 65 years and loved each other as much as ever.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Danny Maley Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Knappa High School or the food bank of one’s choice.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
