James Michael “Jimmy” Dugan, 73, of Svensen, died July 6, 2013 in Astoria.
Mr. Dugan was born to Bartholomew A. Dugan & Nora H. (Hunt) Dugan in Astoria on May 14, 1940. He was a graduate of Knappa High School. He served in the US Army in Berlin, where he met and married Erika Maria (Grube) Dugan. They celebrated their fifty-second wedding anniversary last May.
Mr. Dugan spent most of his life working on the Crown Booms, Andy Young Boom, Astoria Plywood Corp. log deck and Clatsop County Road Department. He was an avid hunter and sport fisherman. He is survived by his wife Erika; daughter Colleen Monica Andretti of Wyoming; son Daniel Patrick Dugan of Astoria; brother Patrick A. Dugan of Astoria; grandchildren Cassandra Hardester and Brandon Andretti; and numerous nephews and nieces and grand nephews and grand nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald F. Dugan.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3 at St. Mary, Star of the Sea, 1465 Grand Ave., Astoria. It will be preceded by a rosary at 10:30 a.m. Burial follows at Greenwood Cemetery. A barbecue reception will follow at the the home of Jimmy and Erika, 40440 Old Hwy 30 (Svensen).
