Margaret "Peggy" Ann Bue

Margaret (Peggy) Adams Bue was born Nov. 25, 1925, in Hoquiam, WA, to Dr. Samuel and Margaret J. Adams. She was raised in Clearwater, WA, and graduated from Quinault High School in 1944. Peggy and her mother were airplane spotters in the Olympic Mountains of Washington state from 1942-1943. Peggy was a member of the Olympian Hiking Club during the 1940s. She was the youngest member and climbed numerous mountains in Washington state.
Peggy moved with her mother to Astoria, where she met Allan Bue when she was hired to work at the Astorian Budget. They were married March 28, 1948. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Hope Circle and the Stewardship Sewing Group.
One of her greatest joys in life was snuggling a child under her arm and reading to them. Her children, Linda Aho (Tim) of Dallas, OR, Jean Ewald (Mark) of The Dalles, OR, David Bue (Paula) of Astoria, Larry Bue of Aloha, OR, and Daniel Bue of Newberg, OR, gave her 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, so she had a steady lineup to read to.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan, her sister, Mary Mason and brother, Mark Adams. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Kenneth Bue, sisters-in-law Elinor “Tudy” Stewart and Mary Adams, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Her memorial service is at 11 a.m. Friday, February 28, at First Lutheran Church in Astoria.
