Born June 29, 1939 in Mankato, MN, to Chester Wasson and Genette Kenyon Wasson, Diane died on March 31, 2014, in Gearhart, OR. A loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved to laugh and have fun is finally at peace after a long illness.
Raised in Paonia, CO, and Upland, CA, Diane started her work career as a nurse’s aide at Pomona Valley Hospital before working at General Dynamics.
After moving to Western Washington in the early 1960s, she put work outside the home on hold while helping raise and encourage 3 daughters in their activities and growth. As the kids grew older, she pursued a career as a legal assistant, a profession she enjoyed and excelled at.
After retiring from her job in East Wenatchee, Diane loved traveling with her husband, Ron, and their dog Traver in their coach, seeing all the sights and scenes of the West and Southwest.
Her favorite place was the “beachie,” listening to the waves and forever hunting for treasures. She loved meeting people during their trips, especially those who enjoyed a good joke.
Diane is survived by her beloved husband, Ron, dog Traver, daughters Cindy Henken, Cathy Percy (partner Teddi), and Julie Jones (husband Stephen), 5 grandchildren, 6 grandpuppies, 2 great grandchildren, brothers John Wasson (wife Sharon) and Stephan Wasson, and sisters Yvonne (Vicki) McKenzie and Stephanie Wasson McFarland (husband Randy), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her family loves her and will miss her very much. At her request, there will be no services.
