Sally West Hauer

Sally West Hauer, 68, of Astoria died Friday, May 23rd, 2014, in Portland.
She was born April 12th, 1946, in Abingdon, Illinois, to Blanche (Thompson) West and James West.
She was raised in Astoria and graduated from Astoria High School in 1964.
On May 13th, 1974, she married Stanley Lawrence Hauer in Astoria. He preceded her in death in 2007.
Sally worked at the Bumble Bee Cannery, Astoria Clinic and Hauer’s Cyclery and Locksmith before retiring from the family business in 2007. She was an active member of the Red Hat Ladies.
Sally was also an active member of the Church of the Nazarene and the Nehalem Valley Community Church. She enjoyed helping others, making people laugh and spending time with her grandchildren.
Many will remember her smile and her boisterous laugh.
Sally is survived by one daughter and one son-in-law: Cynthia Hauer Murray and Michael Murray; two grandsons and one granddaughter: Christofer Hauer, Rylan Murray and Alyssa Murray, all of Jewell; one sister and brother-in-law: Nancy and Ernie Schmidt of Clackamas; one brother and sister-in-law: Ernie and Joyce West of Astoria; and one sister Laura West of Seaside; many in-laws: Ed and Diane Hauer, Deanna and John Hord, Bob and Judy Hauer, all of Astoria; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday June 21st at the Astoria Church of the Nazarene, 725 Niagara Ave.
