Elsie Harriet Pedersen

Elsie Harriet Pedersen, age 90, of Ocean Park, WA, a former Cathlamet resident, passed away at home on July 22, 2014. Elsie was born on September 4th, 1923, to Jens and Martha (Vee) Hanson in Astoria. She attended and fulfilled her schooling in the Knappa, OR. schools. After her schooling, Elsie worked at Newberry’s and for Dr. Rafferty. Elsie married Lyle Allen Pedersen on February 18, 1946, in Vancouver, Washington. They lived in the Astoria-Svensen area until moving to Cathlamet in 1956. Lyle passed away in 1975. She enjoyed being a homemaker, and especially enjoyed her family and friends. Her hobbies included needlework, knitting and her flower gardens. Elsie was preceded in death by her siblings. Bessie, Louise, Gudrun, Mary, Harold, Lillian and Arthur (Buster). Elsie is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Clifford and Kristine of Ocean Park and Jerry and Peggy of Cathlamet, 4 granddaughters and 7 great-grandchildren. The family would like to specially thank all the dedicated staff with Harbors Home Health and Hospice for their total support and comfort care for Elsie. Memorial contributions may be made to Harbors Home Health & Hospice at 201 7th St., Hoquiam, WA. 98550 in Elsie’s name. A public graveside inurnment will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Astoria. All are welcome to attend.
