Tony Mark Tischer

Tony Mark Tischer was born in Portland, Ore., on January 14, 1957. He passed away on September 4, 2014, after a long battle with kidney cancer.

Tony was a longtime resident of Clatsop County. He resided in Svensen, Ore. He graduated from high school in 1976, from Knappa High School. He married Elizabeth Harris in October of 1985. Tony was employed by Nygaard Logging of Warrenton, Ore., for over thirty years, where he was a logging supervisor.

Tony’s hobbies included hunting and fishing. Tony coached various sports at Hilda Lahti Elementary including: T-ball, softball, basketball and baseball.

Tony is survived by his wife Elizabeth Tischer, his son Tony John Tischer, his daughter Paige Tischer, his father Mark Tischer, his mother Shirley Tischer, his brother Steven Tischer, sister-in-law Liisa Tischer, niece Kourtney Tischer, and niece Tia Fish, all of Knappa, Ore. He is also survived by a sister, Karen Fish of Ontario, Ore., and brothers Scott Tischer of Anchorage, Alaska, and Jeff Tischer of Hoonah, Alaska, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, September 14, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Wickiup Grange in Svensen, Ore.
