Melvin Eugene Hancock, age 79, died at home on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Born Sept. 18, 1935, in Jewell, Kan., he lived in Denver, Colo., before settling in Knappa, Ore. He worked at the Wauna Paper Mill for 26 years until retiring in 1995. He was a active member of the Oregon Good Sams Club, and enjoyed his traveling adventures and fishing. His main joy was spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Sally Hancock; his children, Melvin (Gene) Hancock from Knappa, Ore., Kevin and Elaine Hancock from Cornelius, Ore., Wes and Becky Paulson from Grand Island, Neb., Sarah and Chris LaPalme from Parker, Colo., Rick and Nancy Lang from Denver, Colo., Tom and Frances Lang from Brighton, Colo., Karen Lang and Brenda Hutzell from Lakewood, Colo., Sharon Cerrone and Tim Saxton from Colorado Springs, Colo., and Raele Lang of Colorado; along with 22 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 14, at Crossroads Community Church, 40618 Old Highway 30, Svensen, Ore. Relatives and friends are welcome at the reception following the service.
