Judith Woodworth Swift 77, of Warrenton, Ore., died on April 4, 2015, in her home.
Judi was born on May 21, 1937, in Portland, Ore., to Miles and Kay Woodworth. Judi attended Cleveland High School for one year before she moved to Boston, when her father, Miles, began working for the National Fire Protection Association in Boston, Mass.
Judi graduated from Needham High School in 1955, and Dean Junior College in 1957. Judi met Glen at Dean and they were married in Needham, Mass., on Oct. 8, 1960, and lived in Old Saybrook, Conn. They moved to Oregon in 1972, where they raised their three children.
In 1999 Glen and Judi retired to Warrenton, Ore. Judi loved volunteering with the SMART reading program and read to children at Warrenton Elementary School for 11 years. She liked to fish, hike and camp. Judi and Glen enjoyed volunteering as campground hosts in Oregon State Parks.
Judi is survived by her husband, Glen; her three children, Craig Swift of Hillsboro, Ore., Jill Bolliger of Burbank, Wash., and Sally Menolacina of Gresham, Ore.; and a sister, Sally Cleary of Cumberland, R.I. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Alexandra, Wesley, Mackenzie, Kelsey, and Marie.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 2 p.m. at the Seaside Methodist Church, 241 N. Holladay Drive in Seaside, Ore.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Alzheimer’s Association of Oregon, Lower Columbia Hospice, or the Seaside Methodist Church.
