Darrel James Ferguson

July 26, 1964 — September 10, 2016

Darrel was born July 26, 1964, in Anaheim, California. He later moved to Knappa, Oregon, with his family. Darrel was the youngest of four children.

Darrel was an avid hunter, fisherman, clam digger, sports lover and logger. He worked for Nygaard Logging for more than 30 years, a job he loved dearly.

Darrel coached and assistant coached football at Knappa High School for 14 years. Darrel played football for Knappa High School in the Shriners game in Baker City in 1983. He participated, mentored and guided for the Make A Wish hunting program.

Darrel loved fishing in Bristol Bay, Alaska, with his family.

Darrel is survived by his wife, Darcy; his parents, Janice and Jerry Ferguson; his sister, Debbie (Les); his brothers, Dean (Irene) and Dana (Coco); his daughter, Brittany (Tony); his granddaughter, Avery; his stepson, Cody White; very special longtime friends Ron Kelly, Bill High and Spike Barendse; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Whitney.

A memorial service for Darrel will be held at the Clatsop County Fairgrounds Sunday, Sept. 25, at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Knappa High School Football Program.
