Brandon Allen Getten

Brandon Allen Getten Staigmiller was born on June 8, 1987, in Great Falls, Montana. He grew up on the family ranch in Eden, Montana. He attended school in Centerville, and graduated from Cascade High School in 2005.

After a stint being a line cook, and a summer as a stonemason, Brandon and his two musketeers, Alisa and Josh, packed up a U-Haul and moved to the Oregon Coast. Brandon fell in love with the climate and the culture. He managed a chain of smoke shops and was actively pursuing his passion through new business ventures.

Brandon’s short but incredible life was cut short in a tragic car accident on Feb. 12, 2017. He touched a tremendous number of people with his quick wit, unfailing good humor, his unconditionally loving spirit, his love of life and love of Smarties. And of course, his encompassing hugs.

Brandon is survived by the Staigmiller family, his Mama Bear Lynne, his father Kurt, his little sister Kelsey Jo and his nephew Zeagan Patacsil; his four fur babies, Charlie, Claire, Cleo and Booda; his mentor, John Harper; his grandparents, Pete and Mel Balzarini; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Brandon is now playing and giggling in heaven with his nephew, Zaden Lucas, who preceded him in death in 2013. He will be forever missed.

A memorial is being held at noon Sunday, Feb. 19, at The Loft at the Red Building, 20 Basin St. in Astoria.
