Eleanor “Ellie” Fraser Johnston Hamilton was born Oct. 30, 1938. She passed away and went to be with God, family, and friends in heaven Nov. 10 at 5:15 p.m.
Ellie graduated from school in Buckeye, Arizona and went to Arizona State College in Tempe, Arizona. She finished her teaching education degree in Flagstaff, Arizona, living in Williams, Arizona, with her teacher husband, Bob.
They later moved to Ripon, California, where Ellie was active in teaching church youth and witnessing at the Modesto, California abortion clinic. Ellie was later active in the Modesto Baptist Church, working with the Vietnamese families and witnessing on several mission trips to Belgium.
For the past 23 years, Ellie has been involved with ministries, teaching junior high school at North Coast Christian School for two years, taking mission trips with the Lighthouse Church and North Coast Family Fellowship, including with a youth group to Alaska, and adult groups to Antwerp, Belgium and Vienna, Austria, and teaching at vacation Bible schools and with Awana youth ministry. She was also involved with Senior Connection, the Astoria Rescue Mission and Gideons International.
Ellie has four children, Dean Hamilton of Wisconsin, John Hamilton of Portland, Bonnie Hamilton of Forest Grove and Paul Hamilton of Salem. Ellie also has eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Her resting place is located at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at North Coast Family Fellowship, 2245 N. Wahanna Road in Seaside.
