James Alan Goldie

June 23, 1939 — January 15, 2018

James Alan (Jim) Goldie’s parents were Arthur Goldie and Evalyn (Kennedy) Goldie. Jim was born and lived in Astoria for 78 years.

He loved his Class of 1957 at Astoria High School. They celebrated their 60th class reunion in 2017.

In 1967, he married Sharon (Waggle) Goldie in Vancouver, Washington. She survives.

He is also survived by one son, Dave, born in 1972; and several nieces and nephews. His brothers, Bob Goldie and Wally Goldie, preceded him in death.

Jim was in the automotive trade as a mechanic and auto painter. He retired in 2002, and said he did it very well — just ask his wife.

He was an antique and classic car enthusiast, and enjoyed reading. He especially liked visiting with friends.

There will be a private graveside burial at Prairie Cemetery in Knappa at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19.

A celebration of life and potluck takes place from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Wickiup Grange in Svensen, Oregon.

Memorial contributions may be made to the United Way of Clatsop County.
