Mary Evelyn Jenkins passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family.
She was born and raised in Wilton, Maine. She was the last of six children born to Charles R. and Doris P. (Wilton) Brooks.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert and Raymond; two sisters, Grace and Pearl; one son, Patrick Collins; and two grandchildren, Josh Lampien and Phillip Collins.
She is survived by her husband, J.P. (Jim) Jenkins Jr.; her twin sister, Martha Hill (Jack); two daughters, Addie Heiner (Gary) and Gayla Medus (Dana); six sons, Ted Collins (Lynadda), Carl Collins (Bev), Tim Collins (Debbie), Harold Collins (Stephanie), Pat Jenkins (Nathalie), and Jim Jenkins III (Darla); 43 grandchildren; 47
great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Mary spent her life as a career waitress, starting with Carl’s Jr. in Southern California, and finishing in Oregon at Rob’s Restaurant, and retiring from Arnie’s Cafe.
Her life was her family. Mary will surely be missed. Her loving smile and glowing personality have brought joy to everyone who has ever met her. She was truly an example of God’s graces and love. Not too many people know a real-life angel. Mary was just that.
Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, from 1 to 5 p.m., at Caldwell’s Luce-Layton Mortuary.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at 11 a.m., at the Caldwell’s Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow at Ocean View Cemetery.
