Mary Jean Larsen, 80, passed away in Astoria, Oregon, on Feb. 11, 2018, after a short battle with cancer.
She was born in Astoria, Oregon, on July 5, 1937, to Donald and Lilly (Anderson) McKenney.
She graduated from Astoria High School in 1955. She met and married the love of her life, Harlen Glenn Larsen, on Nov. 26, 1955, and celebrated 62 years in November. He survives.
She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed fishing, camping, lunches with her high school girlfriends, and most importantly, spending time with family.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn, of Astoria; son Clinton (Patti) Larsen of Prineville; daughters Valerie Fletcher of Astoria and Alfie (Terry) Yaakola of Prineville; grandchildren Vanessa (Ben) Neuenfeldt of Warrenton, Justin (Rachel) Larsen of Astoria, Travis Helligso of Prineville and Nick (Kelli) Yaakola of Redmond, Oregon; nine great-grandchildren, Sarah and Sophie Neuenfeldt, Emily and Beth Larsen, Charlotte and Madeline Helligso, and Mia, Sadie and Quaid Yaakola.
She was preceded in death by a son, Emery; her parents; and her brothers, Danny and Vance McKenney.
Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at 11 a.m., at Caldwell’s Luce-Layton Mortuary in Astoria, 1165 Franklin Ave. Please sign the online guest book at caldwellsmortuary.com
