Elizabeth
Louise Rossiter Kraus, 94, of Seaside, formerly of Lake Oswego and Palm
Springs, Calif., died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, in Seaside.
She was born Aug. 20, 1915, in Vancouver, Wash., to Louis John Rossiter and Nancy Howe-Wester.
She attended from Vancouver Business College and graduated from Reed College.
A
classically-trained pianist, she appeared with Louise Graham and
Georgia Gardner, among others, touring the West Coast until late 1940.
In 1940, she married Walter J. M. Kraus, an officer with U.S. Army Special Services. He preceded her in death in 2004.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol Anne Frankel; a son, Josef Rossiter Kraus; and three grandchildren.
