Corinne Mae Bell, 75, of Astoria, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, in Cathlamet, Wash.
She was born Oct. 10, 1934, in Grand Rapids, Mich., to Cleo E. and Margaret E. (Welch) Hull.
Raised in Grand Rapids, she moved from Michigan to Clatsop County in 1963.
On Aug. 20, 1976, she married Leon "Buck" Bell in Astoria. He preceded her in death Nov. 8, 1999.
From
1975 to 1977, Mrs. Bell was an office manager for Fisher Brothers
Mercantile, and from 1994 to 1996, she worked as a clerk for Vanguard
Marketing. She was a jewelry vendor from 1995 to 1998, an office clerk
for Adult Family Services in Astoria from 2000 to 2001, then a field
operations assistant for Experience Works from 2001 to 2003. She
retired in 2007.
She was a member of the Astoria Elks Lodge, Astoria Moose Lodge and the Women's Bowling Association.
Family members said her hobbies included attending craft shows, bowling, fishing, hunting, gardening and crocheting.
She
is survived by her companion, Woodrow Walker of Astoria; four sons,
Kent Beck Jr. of Florida, Michael and Frank Beck of Astoria and Mark
Beck of Hammond; two daughters, Debra Churchill of Beaverton and Sue
Huber of Bend; a stepdaughter, Ginger Bell of Portland; 18
grandchildren, Aaron Beck of Grand Rapids, Michael Beck Jr., Matthew J.
and Matthew K. Beck and Ashleigh Warren, all of Astoria, Kera and
Gregory Beck and Trina Christian, all of Portland, Kelsey and Anya
Beck and Stephanie Luttrell, all of Washington, Christopher Beck of
Warrenton, Brady Beck of Seaside, Anthony Huber of Hermiston, Dana
Huber and Autumn Ross, both of Bend, Kelly French of Salem and Chantel
Batson of Beaverton; three brothers, Gerry, John and Warren Hull of
Michigan; six sisters, Carol Lanam of Texas, Becky Bivens of Ohio and
Sharon Frederickson, Cleo Laurie Schussler, Kris Drayton and Melody
Covosa, all of Michigan; a stepbrother, Roger Severance of Michigan;
and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, Lonnie Bell; and two sisters, Yvonne and Missy Hull.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shively Hall, 1505 Shively Park Road in Astoria.
Family
and friends may bring a bouquet of "peace roses" to the celebration of
life, or memorial contributions may be given to the American Lung
Association or the American Cancer Society, in care of Caldwell's
Luce-Layton Mortuary, 1165 Franklin Ave., Astoria, OR 97103.
