Andrew Albert "Andy" Rosenberger

Andrew Albert (Andy) Rosenberger was born March 14, 1918, to Peter and Catherine Rosenberger in St. Paul, Minnesota, one of twelve children.

He died February 20, 2010, in Astoria, Oregon, at the age of 91.

Andy received his schooling at St. Matthew's School in St. Paul, Minnesota.  He married Margaret Ziegler in December, 1941.  During World War II, he was drafted into the Army Air Corp. and was stationed in Italy.

After discharge, he returned to St. Paul and went to work for the Minnesota Milk Co. In 1953, Andy and his family moved to San Diego, California, where he was employed by the Weber Baking Co.  In 1968, Andy moved to Juneau, Alaska and later joined the Alaska Fish and game Department.

In 1971, he married Helen Morrison in Juneau.  The following year they moved to Warrenton, Oregon, where they purchased the Marlin Avenue Grocery.

Andy also worked for Bumble Bee Cold Storage in Astoria.

Andy was a life member of the Fort Stevens VFW #10580, and a member of American Legion Post 99.  In 1980, he became a member of St. Mary's Church in Astoria.

Andy is survived by his wife, Helen, brother, John Rosenberger, sister, Catherine Rosenberger, daughter, Kathy (Wayne) Buttron, and sons Andy Rosenberger, Jim (Sharon) Rosenberger, Thom (Nancy) Rosenberger and Charlie (Sharren) Morrison.  He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Marty Rosenberger.  He also leaves 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Visitation will be from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m., Thursday, February 25th at Caldwell's Luce-Layton Mortuary, with the  Rosary at 6:00 p.m.  A mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 am, Friday, February 26th, at St. Mary's Church in Astoria, followed by burial at Ocean View Cemetery, Warrenton, Oregon.  Immediately thereafter, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Warrenton Community Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lower Columbia Hospice, Star of the Sea School, or your favorite charity in care of Caldwell's Luce-Layton Mortuary, 1165 Franklin Ave. , Astoria, OR  97103 .
