Michael L. "Mike" Coleman, 57, of Hammond, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, in Hammond.

He was born July 26, 1952, in Salem, to Vern and Donna (Uphoff) Coleman. His mother survives, residing in Woodburn. His father preceded him in death.

He attended Woodburn High School.

On July 29, 1989, he married Linda Mc-Whorter Long in Gervais. She survives, residing in Hammond.

Mr. Coleman owned Coleman's Cove Restaurant & Lounge in Hammond. He retired in 2008.

Family members said he enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching science fiction and western movies. He loved being surrounded by friends and family, especially his grandchildren, escaping to his Lake Merwin cabin and traveling with his wife.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Ted Nicholson of Beaverton; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Steve and Sandy Coleman and Doug and Terri Coleman, all of Canby, Tom Coleman of Woodburn and Bob and Leslie Coleman of Vancouver, B.C.; three grandchildren, Christian Long and Jenna and Kaitlyn Nicholson, all of Beaverton; four nephews; and four nieces.

He was preceded in death by a nephew, Nick Coleman.

Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, March 28, followed by a funeral at 2 p.m., both at Caldwell's Luce-Layton Mortuary, 1165 Franklin Ave.

Private interment will take place at St. Luke's Cemetery in Woodburn.
