Nancy E. Loftin

Nancy E. Loftin, age 80, of Warrenton, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, in Warrenton. She was born April 4, 1930, in Yakima, Wash., to George L. and Zella I. (Coad) Stimson. Raised in Yakima, she graduated from high school there. On Aug. 16, 1968, she married Kenneth W. Loftin in Warrenton. He survives, residing in Warrenton. Mrs. Loftin started working for Pacific NW Bell in 1961 in Astoria. When the Astoria office closed, she was transferred to the office in Salem, and worked there until her retirement in 1990. Family members said her hobbies included reading, sewing and traveling with the Good Sam Recreational Vehicle Club with her husband, in their RV. Her family remembers how special Christmas was to her; she enjoyed being with family and friends. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Tim Dowell of Warrenton and Cari and Jerry Dudash of Aumsville; a stepdaughter, Paula Loftin and her husband, Dave, of Eugene; three stepsons, Ken Loftin and his wife, Mary, and Charles Loftin and his wife, Piki, all of Eugene, and Richard Loftin of Yachats; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Alice Stimson of Auburn, Wash.; three grandchildren, Katrina Smith and her husband, Michael, of Astoria, Timothy Dowell and his wife, Sherry, of Warrenton and Jason Dudash of Aumsville; three step-grandchildren, Lily, Wayne and Maria Loftin of Eugene; and three great-granddaughters, Natasha and Angeline Dowell of Warrenton and Taylor Smith of Astoria. A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11 at Weddle Funeral Home, 1777 N. Third Ave. in Stayton. A reception will follow at Weddle Funeral Home.
