Jack Cecil Fuller, 86, of Longview, Wash., formerly of Astoria, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at the Hospice Care Center in Longview.
He was born Feb. 21, 1924, in Independence, Mo., to Cecil and Alta (Sellers) Fuller.
He graduated from Kelso (Wash.) High School in 1942.
During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps.
In 1946, he married Gayle Taylor in Kelso. They had one child and later divorced.
In 1952, he married Nancy Pederson in Cathlamet, Wash. They had two children together. She preceded him in death in 1992.
In 1996, he married Florence Fuller. She preceded him in death in 2003.
Mr. Fuller was a pile buck foreman building bridges in Oregon, Washington, Alaska and California before moving to Astoria in 1963, where he contributed to the building of the Astoria Bridge. He retired in 1989, and returned to the Longview/Kelso area six years ago.
He was a 60-year life member of the Kelso Elks, and a member of the Longview American Legion, Longview Eagles and several labor unions.
Family members said he enjoyed commercial fishing and dancing.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Vern Colt of Longview; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Niel and Lodie Fuller of Eugene and Keith and Letha Fuller of Pahrump, Nev.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sons.
A memorial will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12 at the Kelso Elks, 900 Ash St. in Kelso.
