Sandra Marie Whitaker

Sandra Marie Whitaker, 58, of Warrenton, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, in Warrenton.

She was born June 5, 1952, in Portsmouth, N.H., to Donald Everett and Lorraine Marie (Gagnon) Sayward. Her parents survive, residing in Tumwater, Wash.

She was raised in various cities in the U.S.

On Sept. 3, 1983, she married Rudy Whitaker in Long Beach, Wash. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Whitaker moved to Warrenton in 2004 from Seattle, and has resided there since.

Family members said her hobbies included playing bingo, and gambling. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog, Willie, a great companion for many years.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a daughter, Melody Smith of Warrenton; two sons, David Fore of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Larry Whitaker of Olympia, Wash.; five grandchildren, CaSandra Smith of Klamath Falls, Kyle Smith and Evan Lakey of Warrenton and Payton and Braxton Eves of Sioux Falls; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Nick Ewing and Chere and Robert Cline, all of Tumwater, Susan and Jack Daveys of Phoenix, Ariz., Betty and Dave Cloud of Springfield and Carol and Vern Mullins of Warrenton; a brother, Raymond Sayward of Tumwater; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two nephews, Thomas Lee Newhall and Beau Cloud.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
