Harold Raymond Jones, 84, of Seaside, Ore., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at his residence.
Services will be 7 p.m. Saturday at Caldwell's Luce-Layton Mortuary in Astoria, Ore.
Harold was born Dec. 27, 1925, in Hubbard, Neb., the son of Will Jones and Sarah Lucy (Purucker) Jones. He served in the U.S. Army for one year. He had been a resident of Clatsop County, Ore., since 1925. He had lived in Astoria and Seaside. He was employed as a welder for semi-trailers both manufacture and repair. He retired in 1987.
He was married to Mary Antonette Baisley on May 20, 1974, in Bremerton, Ore.
He was a member of the Elks.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Seaside; his children, Amanda and Randy Jesse of Salem, Ore., Marleen Miller of Sioux City, Charleen and Donald Prescott, Tim and Barb Jones of Kopperl, Texas, and Barb Taylor of Pa.; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie E. Wilson; and a son, Monty G. Jones.
