Daisy W. Hendrickson

Daisy W. Hendrickson, age 94, of Astoria, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, in Astoria. She was born Oct. 10, 1916, in London, to Charles Thomas and Margaret (King) Finneymore. The family moved to Astoria when she was 8 years old. She attended schools in London and Astoria. On Feb. 18, 1954, she married Elmer E. Hendrickson. He preceded her in death June 5, 1988. Mrs. Hendrickson worked in the seafood canneries as a filleter. She also worked at Uptegrove Lumber Company. Family members said her hobbies included dancing, salmon fishing, clam digging, camping and shopping. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rosalie and Jim Boaz of Roseburg; six grandchildren, Debbie Bingham and her husband, Bob, and Eileen Lindberg, all of Astoria, Diane Fullenwider of Nevada, Bill Louder and his wife, Jane, and Marian Boaz, all of Roseburg, and Cindy Smith of Vale; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanette Pinson; three grandchildren, Mike and David Lindberg and Jan Boaz; and a brother, Thomas Finneymore. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27 at Caldwell’s Luce-Layton Mortuary. Private interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Astoria. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, in care of Caldwell’s Luce-Layton Mortuary, 1165 Franklin Ave., Astoria, OR 97103.
