Darlene Ellen Puro

Darlene E. Puro, 82, of Astoria, died Jan. 1, 2022.

Darlene worked in Topeka, Kansas, at Merchants National Bank as a bookkeeper, and later moved to Oregon. She worked at Coast Rehabilitation Services for several years, and later retired.

She was born on Sept. 15, 1939, in Topeka, the daughter of Marvin and Ellen Spiker. She was a member of the Hoyt Methodist Church in Hoyt, Kansas, before moving to Oregon.

Survivors include one daughter, Ronda Puro, of Gearhart; a sister, Diane Williams, of Wichita, Kansas; one nephew; two nieces; and two great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Ellen Spiker; and brothers, Darrell, Donald, Dale and Delmar.

A graveside service will be held at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton, with a reception following at the Columbia House Condominiums in Astoria.

Caldwell’s Luce-Layton Mortuary is in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lower Columbia Hospice in Astoria in lieu of flowers.
