Eva Helen Sollars

August 17, 1947 — May 23, 2024

Eva Helen Sollars, 76, of Knappa, passed away on May 23.

She was born on St. Paul Island, Alaska. She was adopted at age 7.

Eva grew up in Gearhart, attended St. Mary, Star of the Sea School in Astoria, and graduated from Seaside High School.

She attended Clatsop Community College, where she met her future husband, Daniel Sollars. Dan and Eva were married on Sept. 2, 1967, and enjoyed 57 years of marriage.

Between her friends and family, she made everyone feel special. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.

She also had amazing talent in the kitchen, from making homemade bread, freezer jam and pies with apples and berries that they grew in their garden.

Eva worked for the Oregon State University Extension Service, Svensen Co-op, Knappa Market and 17 years for the U.S. Coast Guard Exchange .

Eva is survived by her husband, Daniel Sollars; brother, Carlton Ward; sons, Gregory Ward Sollars (Tiffany) and James Daniel Sollars (Claudine); grandchildren, Lacee Danielle Sollars, Dylan James Sollars, Alexis (Nuernberg) Sollars, Payten Lei Sollars and Gage Daniel Sollars; and great-grandchildren, Ryder Sollars-Johnson, Macie Sollars, River Sollars and Lainey Jo Nuernberg.

There will be a private family gathering for her celebration of life at a future date.
