Ronald George Mark

July 27, 1942 — October 15, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald George Mark, beloved father, grandfather and friend, who left us on Oct. 15 at the age of 82.  Born in Kalispell, Montana, to George and Beatrice Mark, Ron was a man of many talents and a heart full of love.

Ron graduated from Knappa High School, where he distinguished himself as an athlete by earning varsity letters in all sports and serving as the halfback in the prestigious East-West Shrine Game in 1961.  Driven by a desire for knowledge, he went on to earn an associate’s degree in business, which set the stage for his future achievements.

On Feb. 26, 1966, Ron married his high school sweetheart, Deanna Hunt, with whom he shared a deep and abiding love until her passing.  Together, they built a family filled with joy and laughter.

He is survived by his three daughters, Tiffany (Mark) Zaba, and her husband, Kevin, Michelle Mark, and her partner, Angela White, and Lisa (Mark) Isley.  He cherished his four granddaughters, Natalie Zaba, Sophie Zaba, Mallory (Isley) Ponce and Maggie Isley, who brought him immense pride and happiness.

In addition to his loving family, Ron was known for his entrepreneurial spirit, owning and operating Mark Fertilizer Co. Inc., a business that thrived due to his dedication and hard work. He had a talent for making people laugh, always ready with a good joke to brighten someone’s day.

Ron was preceded in death by all of his siblings, Gordon Mark, Shirley Gillespie, Stanley Mark, Melvin Mark and Maxine Peterson. Their bond, along with the love he shared with Deanna, will now be rekindled in the eternal embrace of family.

A vigil was held at Caldwell’s Luce-Layton Funeral Home on Oct. 21, followed by the burial at Ocean View Cemetery, where he will rest alongside his beloved wife.

Ronald Mark will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.  His legacy of love, laughter and dedication to family will forever remain in our hearts.
